Rehabilitation of the Poça do Monte Irrigation System

Ruris supported the project "Refurbishment of the Poças do Monte Traditional Irrigation System", which set out to upgrade the entire main and secondary channel of the Poças do Monte Traditional Irrigation System.

The works to be carried out therefore covered the drainage system, as well as all the complementary works and services needed for its effective and efficient delivery.

Given the current state of the irrigation system, this project aims to reduce water losses along the whole channel, to allow more efficient water management through the introduction of innovative technologies such as a volumetric water control system, and to give all users access to this resource.
