Aldeias da Mesa dos 4 Abades: Territorial Development Strategy

The purpose of this work, developed by Ruris, was to produce a development strategy for the Aldeias da Mesa dos 4 Abades, following an initial assessment of the area, centred on the primary objective of adding value to local heritage, with four action programmes addressing the main economic, environmental and social challenges of each parish.

The services provided by Ruris were therefore as follows:

Economic development and sustainability plan:

• Assessment of the current situation in each village;
• Identification of the strengths and main obstacles to the economic and social development of the villages;
• Definition of a proposed overall and village-specific intervention strategy so as to anchor economic development and the sustainability of resources;
• Proposal for a general and village-specific action plan;
• Proposal for monitoring and impact evaluation.
