Land Exchange and Rural Incubator

Ruris was involved in the Guimarães Land Bank and Rural Business Incubator, set up to build the capacity of entrepreneurs and support them in improving their skills for managing rural businesses, to support the preparation of their business plans, real-world validation and the initial implementation phase of the business.

In parallel, the Municipal Land Bank was created, on the premise that access to land is crucial to the development of farming businesses.

The main actions carried out by Ruris were:

• Support in the conceptual and strategic definition of the Guimarães Rural Business Incubator;
• Preparation of the rules governing the incubator;
• Design of the incubation programme and its content (entrepreneur workshop, consolidation of the business plan, and networking and cooperation);
• Creation of the Guimarães Land Bank - a mechanism for facilitating access to land;
• Delivery of activities publicising the project;
• Ongoing consultancy on the delivery of the project.
