Alto Mondego Express

The "Expresso do Alto Mondego" project, developed by Ruris, set out to structure the region's tourism offer so as to create the conditions for tourists and visitors attending a cultural event in the area to extend their stay, contributing significantly to the local economy by enjoying authentic experiences, tasting unique flavours and staying overnight in local accommodation. It is worth noting that this project takes shape through the purchase of a ticket to travel through the territory and history of the Alto Mondego Network.

The actions carried out by Ruris were:

• Preparation of the application:
  • Support in designing the project idea;
  • Compilation of the documentation required to submit the application in line with the call for applications;
  • Definition and description of the project's general and specific objectives;
  • Structuring and definition of the action plan and investment plan to be submitted;
  • Technical characterisation and justification of investment costs in line with the actions to be carried out and the quotations submitted;
  • Completion of the form and support with the submission of the application;
  • Support in responding to requests for clarification during the appraisal of applications by the Managing Authority.
• Identification and capacity building of the stakeholders to be involved – 10 stakeholders were identified per municipality, across different categories such as accommodation, restaurants, companies and tourism professionals;
• Structuring of the tourism offer through the creation of tourism itineraries and a touring cultural programme;
• Press office services in national media and social media management;
• Organisation of a route activation event in partnership with CP – Comboios de Portugal;
• Creation and development of content (video and photography);
• Design of communication materials and production of storytelling copy in several languages (PT | ENG | ESP).
