Historic Gardens Route

Ruris was at the origin of the Historic Gardens Route of Portugal. In order to promote a distinctive and attractive offer for this tourism product, it was essential to ensure the quality of the experiences and visiting conditions, with the aim of guaranteeing that its recognised natural, cultural, landscape and historical resources are not only preserved and valued but also upgraded and aligned with visitors' expectations and needs.

Ruris therefore carried out the following actions:

• A forward-looking assessment of the tourism potential of the Historic Gardens Route of Portugal;
• Collaboration in the certification process for the Historic Gardens of Portugal, through the preparation of the Regulation for awarding the Historic Gardens of Portugal Quality Mark and the corresponding application form;
• Quality certification of the visitor experiences and of the tourism services offered by the Historic Gardens, to be delivered through the creation of a Quality Mark (which certifies and guarantees the contextual and operational conditions needed to upgrade and structure the offer of this new tourism product;
• National and international benchmarking of tourism experience certification.
