BTL’23: Beiras e Serra da Estrela
15 municipalities united for the first time at BTL’23 – Beiras e Serra da Estrela
United by a territory and speaking with one voice, that is how the 15 municipalities of Beiras e Serra da Estrela will be present at BTL’23 – the Lisbon Tourism Exchange, running from 1 to 5 March, for the first time in a single stand. After last year's fires and flash floods, they bring the message that the sparkle is still there and that there are a thousand and one treasures to discover in a territory that is being reborn. Visitors will even be invited to sponsor a tree in the territory, in a reforestation campaign to be launched during the fair.
The Inter-municipal Community of Beiras e Serra da Estrela (CIM BSE) will launch a reforestation campaign. It is a national mission for everyone visiting Beiras e Serra da Estrela at BTL’23: to build a new forest that will have a name of its own. Each visitor will be invited to sponsor a tree free of charge, and can also enter to win a range of prizes during their visit to the stand. Reforestation will take place over the coming months, and each sponsor will be able to follow the work and plant their own tree.
In their diversity — landscapes, traditions, history and gastronomy — Beiras e Serra da Estrela arrive at BTL’23 hand in hand, to present a unique destination with a special sparkle. As the Serra is reborn and dresses itself once more in a palette of greens, the 15 municipalities invite visitors to explore the whole territory, with one guarantee: nature remains one of its best calling cards. “Nature in its purest state is still vibrant and anyone passing through will not be indifferent to the sanctuary of biodiversity they are about to visit. Pure, immaculate and intact landscapes are the guarantee of an unforgettable trip through Beiras e Serra da Estrela”, says the 1st executive secretary of CIM BSE, António Miraldes.
But there is much more to see and feel in Beiras e Serra da Estrela. Each municipality brings its own authenticity to BTL’23, a handful of treasures still to be revealed and plenty of new things. New experiences, new tourist attractions, new events. From nature to history, to culture, to health, to wellbeing, to sensations and flavours. From the most genuine traditions, such as burel wool, to the street art that lights up the streets, from snow to river beaches, from museums to open-air heritage in the form of Castles and Historic Mountain and Schist Villages, Beiras e Serra da Estrela promise to prove they are a perfect destination to visit all year round.
The organisation of this activation was run entirely by Ruris.
