Business2sea 2016. The 6th Edition of the Sea Forum

The event, some of whose activities fall under the North Ocean project co-funded by the NORTE 2020 Programme, will include the celebration of National Sea Day through a commemorative programme attended by the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

The North Ocean Project has as its main objective to help strengthen the business competitiveness of the Norte region, by promoting the internationalisation and growth in exports of companies in the sea economy sector based in the region.

The project is structured around three distinct actions:

Action 1 | The study of international demand markets

Action 2 | Exploring business opportunities internationally

Action 3 | Business capacity building for internationalisation

Event components

This year's B2S edition, supported by NORTE 2020, aims to address, through the various dimensions of its programme, the results recorded in the main segments of the sea economy in Portugal and, through its Workshop and Professional and Business Meetings components, to provide a prime opportunity to take forward the development of projects and business in the maritime field and contribute to their internationalisation.

Visiting the Exhibition component is open and free of charge, with no registration required.

| Professional and Business Meetings

Any organisation can register on the platform to book Professional and Business Meetings, to be held on 16 and 17 November, bilaterally and in a dedicated space.

Note in particular the special participation, on 17 November, of an information service on project funding in the maritime field under Portugal 2020 (ITI Mar), coordinated by DGPM.

53 participants are already registered, from Portugal, Angola, Brazil, Spain, France, Italy, Malta and the United Kingdom.

KEEPING OUR BEARINGS

The central theme organising the event, “KEEPING OUR BEARINGS – Growing and Internationalising the Sea Economy”, is justified by the need to give visibility to the range of dynamics and initiatives across the many areas that have shaped the Sea Agenda in recent years.

Alongside the commemorative session, National Sea Day will feature an activities programme aimed especially at students, with a set of water sports activities organised for the occasion, supported by the National School Sport Coordination unit of the Directorate-General for Education.

B2S is open to all those interested in taking part, subject to compulsory registration for each of its activities.
