Portugal Events - Support Programme for the Organisation of Events of Tourism Interest

Objective

The Portugal Events programme, a support instrument managed by Turismo de Portugal, aims to support the attraction and staging of events of significant tourism interest that contribute to the economic dynamism and differentiation of national destinations. Aimed at cultural, sporting, gastronomic and corporate initiatives, the programme funds operational costs for the production, promotion and internationalisation of strategic events.

Its central objective is to combat tourism seasonality by encouraging events throughout the year, project Portugal's image in international markets, boost spending in the restaurant, accommodation and local retail sectors, and strengthen territorial cohesion through experience tourism.

Eligible beneficiaries

Companies of any size that hold the rights to organise the events or whose main activity is event organisation; and public bodies, including those in whose management central, regional and local government entities hold a controlling position, Convention Bureaux, associations, foundations, higher education institutions, as well as the Regional Tourism Promotion Agencies recognised by the Portuguese Tourism Confederation.

Eligibility conditions

Companies of any size holding the rights to organise the events or whose main activity is organising them; and Public bodies, including those managed by central government bodies
