Social Housing in the Algarve Region

Objective

The Social Housing measure in the Algarve Region, funded by the ERDF under the ALGARVE 2030 Regional Programme, is designed to support public investment in strengthening, upgrading and expanding the supply of social and affordable housing in the Algarve's municipalities.

In direct coordination with the validated Local Housing Strategies (ELH), the measure funds the construction of new dwellings, the rehabilitation and conversion of the existing public building stock and the acquisition of properties or land for inclusion in the public housing pool.

Its central objective is to tackle housing deprivation and the impacts of regional property-market pressure, provide energy-efficient housing for the most vulnerable households and promote social and territorial cohesion in the Algarve.

Eligible beneficiaries

Municipalities; Municipal Companies; Inter-municipal bodies; Other public and non-profit bodies relevant to delivering initiatives falling under this Specific Objective.
