THE 1st BUSINESS MEETING
STRATEGIES FOR UPGRADING LOCAL RETAIL IN MONDIM DE BASTO
As part of the Mondim Coopera Project, the 1st Business Meeting will take place on 5 March, between 3pm and 6pm, at águahotels in Mondim de Basto. The session is aimed at indirect tourism operators in the region and local retail operators.
The 1st Business Meeting will address the theme “Strategies for Upgrading Local Retail” and will be attended by Luís Ceia, president of CEVAL, who will present the project “100% Alto Minho”, and by Pedro Carvalhaes, lecturer at the Porto Polytechnic School of Technology and Management, who will speak on “The New Generation of Customers and What They Expect from Us”. The session will be chaired by Gil Nadais, former Mayor of Águeda, who will play the role of provocateur by putting questions to the guest speakers, as well as managing and putting questions from participants.

The Mondim Coopera project stems from an application approved under the Norte 2020 Collective Actions Incentive Scheme and will run until June 2019 in the Municipality of Mondim de Basto. Its aim is to upgrade SMEs in the agri-food, catering, accommodation, tourism and extractive industry sectors — granite in particular — towards a focus on innovation and differentiation, and to raise awareness of these as critical competitiveness factors, not only for companies but also for a low-density territory such as Mondim.
