Cultural and natural heritage (IT)

Objective

The Cultural and Natural Heritage measure, framed within the Territorial Instruments (IT) of Portugal 2030 and funded by the ERDF, is designed to support operations to conserve, enhance and build capacity around heritage assets, historic buildings and natural ecosystems.

Aligned with the Sustainable Territorial Development Strategies of the Inter-municipal Communities (CIM), local authorities and local networks, the measure funds restoration and rehabilitation works on listed properties and sites, the creation of support infrastructure for nature tourism (such as interpretation centres and environmental trails), museographic innovation and the digitisation of collections.

Its central objective is to safeguard cultural identity and regional biodiversity, promote inclusive access and public enjoyment, and turn this heritage and natural wealth into a driver of territorial attractiveness, social cohesion and sustainable economic development.

Eligible beneficiaries

Beneficiaries provided for in Section IX of the Specific Regulation for the Thematic Area 'Territorial Enhancement and Social Infrastructure' for the 2021-2027 programming period, provided their operations fall within the ITI CIM/AM Action Plan of their NUTS III region and are included in the corresponding Priority Investment Framework (QIP)

Eligibility conditions

Beneficiaries provided for in Section IX of the Specific Regulation for the Thematic Area of Territorial Development and Social Infrastructure, for the 2021-2027 programming period, provided their operations fall within the Action Plan
