Repurposing of collective facilities and upgrading of public spaces (IT)

Objective

The Repurposing of Collective Facilities and Upgrading of Public Spaces measure, framed within the Territorial Instruments (IT) of Portugal 2030 and funded by the ERDF, aims to support public investment in the rehabilitation, modernisation and conversion of community-use infrastructure and spaces.

In line with the Territorial Action Plans of the Inter-municipal Communities (CIM) and local authorities, the measure funds the functional adaptation of obsolete public buildings for new social, cultural or community purposes, as well as the urban upgrading of squares, parks and pedestrian areas. Its central objective is to maximise the usefulness of the public built heritage, promote social inclusion and universal accessibility, enhance urban life and strengthen the attractiveness and socio-spatial cohesion of local communities.
