Show Cooking with Chef Manuel Noya and Chef Ricardo Mendes

AEA HOSTS SHOW COOKING WITH CHEF MANUEL NOYA AND CHEF RICARDO MENDES – AGRI-FOOD PRODUCTS OF BAIXO TÂMEGA

On 15 January 2018 another working session will take place, aimed at creating more momentum in the region's agri-food sector as part of the strategy of the Amarante Business Association, this time in the form of a Show Cooking. The session is aimed at business owners in the Gastronomy sector and also provides for the participation of producers from the region, who will supply produce for preparing the recipes.

The Show Cooking will be led by Chef Manuel Noya and Chef Ricardo Mendes and will involve preparing a menu using regional produce, combining innovation in preparation with the recreation of old recipes. The menu will consist of a starter, Mushroom Royale, a main course, Brined Trout, and a dessert, Cheese Pudding with pumpkin soup. The session aims to challenge restaurants to create new recipes by incorporating regional produce.

Participation is free, but places are limited and reserved for producers in the Gastronomy sector of Baixo Tâmega. Producers from the region are also asked to take part by supplying their produce for preparing the recipes.

This cycle of working sessions stems from an application approved under the Norte 2020 Collective Actions Incentive Scheme and will run until March 2018 in the municipalities of Amarante, Baião, Celorico de Basto and Marco de Canaveses, with the aim of supporting the growth of companies and the development of the cluster, making it more attractive to new investors. The Plan's local partners are Amarante Town Council and the Business Associations of Baião, Celorico de Basto and Marco de Canaveses.
